The new store is located at the intersection of I-10 and Loop 1604, directly across from Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It’s the anchor for ‘The Rim,’ a 700-acre mixed-use development.
The new Bass Pro Shops include special exhibits, hunting gear, fishing tackle and much, much more. It’s one stop shopping for the outdoor enthusiast.
The mega outdoor store will also feature a 12,000 square foot Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant (pronounced ’eye-lah-mah-rah-dah’), live-fire archery range, expansive boat showroom and boat service center.
The store and restaurant are part of one of the most inviting lifestyle communities to be found in the country. Developed by Georgia based Thomas Enterprises, Inc., The Rim will also include urban plazas, courtyards and parks to serve the unique retail, office and residential needs of the community.
The Grand Opening celebration will be preceded by a special Evening for Conservation Wednesday, October 18th that is open to the public. Area conservation groups partnering with Bass Pro Shops will set up display booths to educate customers on their efforts and projects. Special celebrity guests include former San Antonio Spurs player George “Ice Man” Gervin, former Dallas Cowboy Daryl “Moose” Johnston, NASCAR drivers Martin Truex, Jr. and Wally Dallenbach, America’s favorite fisherman and TV host Jimmy Houston and Miss San Antonio Katie Gratia. Musical entertainment will be provided by local band favorite, “Tennessee Valley Authority”. A portion of the night’s sales proceeds will benefit the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s “More Fish” campaign.
