Weekly fishing report -- July 15

Arbuckle:  July 12. Elevation normal, water 84-87 and clear. Crappie good around brush piles. White bass slow. Bass fair early on topwater lures, worms and on drop shot rigs off humps and points.  Report submitted by Jack Melton

Blue River:  July 12. Elevation normal, water 80 and clear. Channel catfish good on liver and stinkbait. Largemouth bass fair on minnows and flies. Report submitted by David Walker, technician at Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting Area.

Broken Bow: July 12. Elevation 6 ft. below normal, water 85 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on soft plastics. Sand bass fair schooling in middle of lake. Crappie fair on minnows 25-35 ft. Report submitted by Steve Lumpkin, state park ranger.

Eufaula: July 11. Elevation 1/2 ft. below normal and clear. Largemouth bass fair on plastic lures at 6-8 ft. off points. White bass good on crankbaits at 4-10 ft. while trolling flats. Channel catfish good on shad at 10-20 ft. drifting flats. Crappie good on minnows at 8-20 ft. under bridges.  Report submitted Ed Rodebush, state game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

Hugo: July 13. Elevation normal, water 84 and murky. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits 3-5 ft. off points. Channel catfish fair on liver on the bottom. Crappie fair on minnows 14-16 ft. off the river channels. Report submitted by Wendell Smalling, state game warden stationed in Choctaw County.

Konawa: No report submitted this week.

McGee Creek: July 11. Elevation normal, water 85 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on topwater lures early and late. Channel catfish fair on juglines and trotlines using sunfish around rip-rap. Crappie fair on minnows around cedar brush. Report submitted by Larry Luman, state game warden stationed in Atoka County.

Lower Mountain Fork River: July 12. Trout good on hoppers, ants, gnats, various midges, soft hackles and wooly buggers.  Report submitted by Sid and Peggy, Beavers Bend Fly Shop.

Murray: June 29. Elevation 1 ft. below normal, water 87 and clear. Largemouth bass fair. Catfish good on juglines in coves. Perch good on worms at fishing docks. All other fishing slow. Report submitted by Lake Murray Fishing Marina.

Pine Creek: June 15. Elevation normal, water 78 and clear. Largemouth bass fair early using topwaters and Carolina soft plastics at the upper end of lake. Channel catfish fair using sunfish on jugs and trotlines. Crappie good on yoyo's with minnows along standing timbers. Report submitted by Dru Polk, state game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Robert S. Kerr: July 5. Elevation normal, water 84 and murky. Largemouth bass slow at 6-10 ft. using plastic baits fishing the edge of the old creek channels with some wood structure. Crappie fair at 10 ft. using minnows fishing in the old submerged creek beds. White bass fair below Webbers Falls and Kerr dam. Blue catfish fair at 5-15 ft. using fresh cut shad and goldfish fishing the edge of the old river channel. Flathead catfish fair at 3-10 ft. using live bait using trotlines fishing the rocky areas around the lake. Striped bass good using live bait fishing near the mouth of the Illinois river. Sardis Lake: July 13. Elevation below normal and clear. Largmeouth bass fair. Sand bass good  while trolling. Walleye good while trolling. Channel catfish fair on cut bait. Crappie good around brush piles. Report submitted by Allen Couch, state game warden stationed in Pushmataha.

Texoma: July 11. Elevation 5 3/4 ft. below normal, water 82 and clear on south end  and murky on north. Largemouth bass good on spinners at 5-10 ft. around structure. White and striped bass good on top water and slab spoons on surface to 15 ft. in the mouth of Alberta Creek. Channel and blue catfish good on cut bait and stink bait at 15 ft. around railroad bridge.  Report submitted by Danny Clubb, state game warden stationed in Bryan County.  

Wister: July 11.  Elevation 1/2 ft. below normal, water 87 and muddy. Largemouth bass fair, mornings and evenings on most soft plastics at 4-8 ft. White bass good when surfacing on rattletraps or little Georges. Report submitted by D.G. Belcher, state game warden stationed in Leflore and Latimer counties.
